Security footage report for Ivanovic case to be released on Monday

Mitrovica prosecutor Shyqeri Syla announced that an initial report on the murder of Kosovo Serb leader Oliver Ivanovic will be made public in the coming days.

On Monday, Kosovo rule of law authorities will publish results from the analysis of security camera footage taken at the site where Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic was killed last Tuesday.

Shyqeri Syla, head prosecutor for the Mitrovica region, said that investigations into the case are ongoing.  

“We are intensively working on the investigation regarding the case of Oliver Ivanovic’s killing. We expect that the results of an examination of footage from security cameras, the examination of the vehicle, and forensic report will be released on Monday,” Syla said, referring to a burned car found about an hour after the murder that is expected to be linked to the case. He added that the investigation includes statements from witnesses.

Ivanovic, head of the Kosovo Serb civic initiative SDP, was shot multiple times and killed on Tuesday morning near his office in North Mitrovica.

Update, 4:05 pm: Kosovo Police trace the last registration of the car to Serbia.
