Holding signs stating “Free our teachers” and “Their students are making Kosovo,” students and teachers from the Mehmet Akif Colleges protested the arrest and deportation of five Turkish teachers from Kosovo. Five employees of Mehmet Akif Colleges, allegedly connected to Fethullah Gulen’s movement, and a sixth Turkish national were arrested and then deported from Kosovo. Their residence permits were revoked by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the basis that they pose a threat to national security. The school board suspects that they are still in Kosovo however, and are demanding their release.| Photo: Atdhe Mulla.
