Members of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities demand equal employment opportunities at local institutions.
A crowd of youths belonging to the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities gathered in front of the Government and Parliament buildings in Prishtina in protest. They requested better employment opportunities for members of these communities. The protestors have demanded equal treatment by the Government while holding up placards in Romany, Albanian and English. “We demand guaranteed jobs in public and state institutions, as is guaranteed to us by the Constitution,” said Isak Skenderi, a representative of the non-governmental organization called “VORAE” (The Voice of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians).
