The Board of Directors of the Gjakova Regional Water Supply Company, KRU Gjakova, issued a verbal warning to the company CEO Hasan Krasniqi and the management staff on Thursday after the release of audio recordings by KALLXO.com implicated CEO Krasniqi in a company procurement procedure.

On March 9, 2025, KALLXO.com published several audio recordings in which Hasan Krasniqi, the CEO of KRU Gjakova, was heard discussing contract negotiations to handle the servicing of the company’s vehicles and stated that he would select the company to sign the contract.

The recordings show that KRU Gjakova CEO Hasan Krasniqi admitted to his staff that he had instructed his driver, Valon Gunga, to find companies to service the vehicles. The latter,  who is the company driver, directed the company’s vehicles to his own family’s business.

In a meeting held on Wednesday, the Board of Directors of KRU Gjakova also requested an extraordinary audit of the procurement procedure by the company’s Internal Audit Office.

“The Board of Directors expressed concern regarding the procurement activities conducted by the management and issued a verbal warning to the Executive Director and the management staff of the company,”  the announcement reads.

“According to its legal competencies, the Board, through the Audit Committee, has requested that the Internal Audit Office immediately carry out an independent, professional, and comprehensive extraordinary audit regarding this procurement activity.”

Meanwhile, following the investigation published in the “Kallxo Përnime” TV Programme, the Special Prosecution has begun investigating the case.

Additionally, the Procurement Review Body, OSHP, has ordered KRU Gjakova to annul its contract with the company “Am-Bur,” after determining that the contract was signed while an active complaint was filed with OSHP without waiting for the legal timeframe for complaints.
