The 2nd edition of the international film festival which focuses on people with special needs and disabilities has opened in Prishtina.
Prishtina is hosting the second edition of the “Art without Limit International Film Festival”, which runs from December 1-3, showing 50 themed films about and for people with special needs.
The screening program started at 11am on Wednesday, while the official opening ceremony took place at the Kino Armata cinema in Pristina. Entry to the films is free.
Fifty local and international short films will be screened, with themes for people with special needs.
“We will try to bring films about the story of what disability and their world really are, both in terms of problems, integration, values and many issues that they are concerned with throughout their lives, delivering positive messages!” the festival website explains.
The official program of the competing films will be held on December 1 and 2 at Kino Armata, while the closing ceremony and awards ceremony will be held on December 3 at the National Theatre. Twelve awards will be given at this festival.
The main jury at the festival consists of: actress Yllka Gashi, jury president: Cristiano Palozzi, director of Genoa Film Festival; Agron Domi, Director of the Tirana International Film Festival; Donna Russo, actress and ballerina from the US; Rolf Killius, director, producer and musician from England; Lou Figueroa, actor and activist for the rights of people with special needs from the US.
The festival is organized by a group of women artists and the NGO “Art without Limit”.
