Bangladesh becomes the 114th state to recognize Kosovo’s independence.
The Bangladeshi government passed a decision to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, Bangladeshi Dhaka Tribune reported earlier today.
The decision was announced by the Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam in Dhaka on Monday.
Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj confirmed the news on Twitter, sharing his exhilaration.
Happy to announce that #Bangladesh has recognized #Kosovo as independent country. Thanks to the Government and people of #Bangladesh ????

Meanwhile Kosovo President Hashim Thaci also thanked the Bangladeshi people.
Thank you people & gov of #Bangladesh for recognising our Republic of #Kosovo as sovereign & independent. This is an unstoppable process!

In September 2016, Hoxhaj promised three more recognitions by the end of 2016, but by December only Singapore recognized Kosovo’ independence.
