Kosovo Police trace the last owner of the car that is suspected to have been used by Oliver Ivanovic’s assassins.
Deputy-director of the Mitrovica regional branch of the Kosovo Police, Besim Hoti, has revealed new information about the police investigation into the murder of Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic.
“Police investigators have managed to identify the last owner of the car, and based on these facts, we have discovered that the car was registered in Serbia until 2017,” Hoti said. He however did not divulge information if the current owner of the car had been interviewed, or if the police have discovered how and when the car entered Kosovo.
Unknown assassins killed Ivanovic in front of the offices of his Citizen Initiative SPD on Tuesday morning. An incinerated car, suspected to have been used in the drive-by shooting, was found soon after.
“Naturally we are investigating the circumstances related to the car, but all I can confirm as of now is what I’ve already told you,” explained Hoti.
Earlier today, Kosovo Police said they would publish a detailed report on security camera footage and other information related to the case by Monday.
