Detention was extended for one more month for two Vetevendosje MPs, Albin Kurti and Donika Kadaj-Bujupi.
The two Vetevendosje MPs currently detained for failing to appear in court and who face charges related to setting off tear gas in the Kosovo Assembly last year will be spending New Year’s Eve in jail.

Afrim Salihu, the defense attorney for MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, confirmed the news for BIRN on Wednesday.
Vetevendosje MPs Kurti, Kadaj-Bujupi, Albulena Haxhiu and Faton Topalli face charges for using a weapon or a dangerous device for setting off tear gas. They are also charged with preventing officials from conducting their official duties.
With the exception of Topalli, the three other MPs have continuously boycotted the court sessions. As a result, Judge Beqir Kalludra initially fined them, but was forced to order their arrest after they continued the boycott, and finally the Kosovo Police arrested the three MPs in front of the Kosovo Assembly on November 24.
Haxhiu has been released to house arrest since.
