The government sent six proposed appointments to the board of the “tender court” to the Kosovo Assembly - after they were already refused once.
Blerim Dina and Vjollca Shala-Kurteshaj will once again be considered for the Procurement Review Body (PRB) by members of parliament. The Procurement Review Body deals with all appeals and complaints about procurement policies and procedures. As such, it is of vital importance that the institution’s members are not politically biased.
However, on in a March 15th decision the parliament dismissed the very same names as politically biased.
Dina and Shala-Kurteshaj were both rejected as candidates by the Assembly back in March, lacking the necessary votes because the the Democratic League (LDK) parliamentary group decided not to vote.
On the day of the vote, LDK MP Naser Osmani said that these two names did not receive support from his party because the parliamentary group deemed them unprofessional.
Along with Dina and Shala-Kurteshaj, the Government has proposed Musa Dragusha, Nuhi Pacarizi, Ivica Ivanovic and Goran Milenkovic as potential PRB board members.
On March 18 Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli, suggested that the PRB’s operations be supervised by an international company.
