The Prishtina Basic court on Tuesday sentenced Kosovo Police lieutenant Bojan Jevtic to six years’ imprisonment for espionage plus a 2,000-euros fine for illegal weapon possession.

Earlier, Judge Kushtrim Shyti confirmed a guilty plea deal between Jevtic and the prosecution.

Jevtic, a Serb from Kamenice/Kamenica, was sentenced for leaking confidential police information to Serbia’s state security service, the BIA. The court also imposed a “prohibition from exercising functions in public administration” for five years, which will be executed after Jevtic has served his prison sentence.

Jevtic has been in detention since July 2025. Bekim Kodraliu, the prosecutor, told the media the following day that the suspect “was dealing with illegal activities that violate Kosovo’s law and constitutional order … These are [leaked] documents issued by the Kosovo Police which are related to Kosovo’s security and its constitutional order.”

Milos Nikolic, Jevtic’s lawyer, noted that Jevtic “has been serving as a police officer since 2002 at the [Kosovo-Serbia] crossing point of Bela Zemlja [Dheu i Bardhe]. He has not held any higher police grade.”

The prosecution file, seen by BIRN, said Jevtic used his official position to collect information and send it to the BIA, which included content and police actions related to state security.

The Pristina Basic Court’s confirmation of Jevtic’s detention explained that, as a police lieutenant and head of the Operations sector at the Dheu i Bardhe/Bela Zemlja border crossing, he provided access to an agent of Serbia’s BIA on his official Kosovo police computer at the border crossing point.

Jevtic sent police operational plans related to state security to a BIA TeamViewer programme, via which it was said that the situation at the border crossing point was being monitored remotely.

This is the third espionage sentence issued by the Pristina Basic Court in recent months.

On April 27, the court sentenced Jelena Djukanovic, an employee of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, to six years’ imprisonment for spying for Serbia. The court found that she had supplied Serbia’s BIA with internal OSCE documents and information about the security, political and social situation in Kosovo – particularly about the four Serb-majority municipalities in the north. She had pleaded not guilty.

“[She] offered data, documents and sensitive information obtained while performing her duty as part of activities within the OSCE Mission [to Kosovo]. The help was realised through communications with Aleksandar Vlajic, a BIA resident agent who has already been convicted of espionage,” prosecutor Kodraliu told the court in September 2025.

A Pristina court in June 2025 sentenced Vlajic to five years’ imprisonment for espionage. According to the indictment, Vlajic transmitted information by phone and in physical meetings with a senior BIA official, and secretly filmed and recorded the movements of the Kosovo Police and Western diplomatic staff in the Serb-majority north of Kosovo.

Vlajic’s indictment also said that he collected information about Kosovo Serbs who allegedly collaborate with Kosovo security organisations and disclosed the identity of a Kosovo Intelligence Agency, KIA, official who he had learned was an active member of the Kosovo Police.
