Kosovo’s failure on Tuesday to join Interpol should serve as an example to Kosovo politics. The dialogue with Serbia needs to change, and politicians should build new internal momentum for unity.
With 68 votes in favor, 51 against and 16 abstentions, Kosovo failed to secure two thirds of the required vote from member states to join the International Criminal Police Organization, Interpol.
Kosovo should adopt an offensive rather than defensive diplomatic strategy and apply to as many international organizations as it can. Even if these endeavors fail, Kosovo has nothing to lose.
