KosovoElections2019

Final parliamentary election results announced

A month after parliamentary elections were held on October 6, the Kosovo Election Commision announced the final results, which see Vetevendosje receiving the most votes for the first time in the party’s history.

More than 13,000 postal votes counted

Over 13,000 postal votes sent by members of Kosovo’s diaspora were counted on Wednesday, widening Vetevendosje’s lead over LDK in the results of October’s parliamentary election.

Investigation launched into poisoning of election commission officials

The Kosovo Special Prosecution is investigating an incident at the Central Election Commission, after officials verifying postal votes suffered allergic reactions after coming into contact with envelopes sent from Serbia.

Vetevendosje and LDK expected to close a deal to form government

Vetevendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, are close to reaching a deal to form a governing coalition for the next four years, after the two former opposition parties won the majority of votes in the October 6 parliamentary elections.

A victory that goes beyond politics

Sunday’s election results were a political earthquake that will resonate beyond the formation of the next government. The electorate have exhibited a refusal to surrender to the blackmail and nepotism that have been endemic in Kosovar politics for the last 20 years.
