One of downtown Prishtina’s finest restaurants has reopened on Mother Teresa Boulevard with the same delightful menu, including its showstopping deep-fried brie.

Have you been missing the velvety texture of melted brie in your mouth, presenting your palate with the perfect pairing of honey and nuts? Fole pairs the combination flawlessly, providing just the right complementary tones without taking away the exquisite flavour of the soft French cheese, which, as always, speaks for itself.

If you never experienced this gem of a restaurant in its original location, you’re in luck. Fole was once tucked away in the city centre but has recently reopened on Mother Teresa boulevard, gracing the public with the same charming menu as before.

Fole is a comfortable yet polished restaurant that pays attention to the little things that convey a sense of luxury. The menu distinguishes itself, with big flavours emerging from a small kitchen that offers a mix of vegetarian delights and meaty show stoppers.

The ambience provides honesty and sophistication with a contemporary branding strategy.  Fole, our little birds nest as stated in the name, offers a lovely terrace filled with foliage where the sun hits in the afternoons – impeccable for people watching.

There is a quaint cabin on the terrace offering take-away flavored coffees and ice cream on warm days, and a medium sized enclosed terrace with a bar. Inside, there is a small, sleek interior, which sets itself apart with its modest, tranquil dining room and its mix of greenery and earth tones make you feel at home and relaxed as soon as you sit down.

The menu charms rather than overwhelms and offers something for everybody. It has a special appeal for those cautious of too many choices – although we guarantee you will have a hard time deciding! Nearly everything on the menu makes you want to come back for more.

Every order comes with a complimentary garlic hummus with a basket of sliced bread to start, and every dish is served on beautiful, thick, rich-toned plates varying in shape and size.

The chicken sandwich is a simple, fresh option – an open faced sandwich dressed in a light tzatziki sauce and topped with grilled chicken, arugula and cherry tomatoes, with an avocado spread and crispy spinach on the side. It is an optimal meal, not too light and not too heavy, which matches the price at three euros and fifty cents.

If you’re looking for a more filling option, Fole offers a good range of meat based dishes. Why not indulge yourself if you know it’s worth it? For nine euros and fifty cents the sliced beef with polenta and pepper sauce will both sustain you and leave you craving more. The beef is pleasantly flavored and accompanied with a juicy sauce that enriches the subtle taste of the polenta.

The dessert menu boasts cheesecake, chocolate ganache and the dessert of the day, all priced at three euros. The dessert of the day was a Milka white chocolate, a thin confection with notes of caramel and powdered sugar on top.

Fole also serves breakfast throughout the day and is renowned for its eggs benedict, layered with salmon or without, however you prefer! Spice things up and try breakfast for dinner next time you are in town.

Then there is the cocktail menu, which is small but inviting with prices ranging from three to seven euros. They offer some well-known classics in addition to their house cocktail which is made with passion fruit, vodka, lime and cranberry. It is an invigorating combination that is perfect to sip on a warm, sunny day!

For those who prefer a fancy drink without alcohol, the mocktail is a treat of its own and tastes of berries and cream. In addition to their refreshing cocktails, Fole also offers a heavenly walnut raki, the perfect digestive after any meal.

Crowds often come and go in Pristina, but with a menu this strong Fole will surely remain a staple. The next time you’re strolling down the boulevard and wondering where to stop, let your taste buds guide you into Fole – satiate yourself with the fried brie and we assure you, you will not be disappointed.
